DRINK MY BREWCASTS FIRST OFFICIAL EPISODE
Drink My Brewcast celebrates it’s second episode with the head brewer of North Peak Brewing Company Dave hale. Dave brings us some music and permission to use songs from Green Sky Bluegrass, a great band out of Kalamazoo where Dave kicked off his brewing career.
North Peak Brewing Company is located on 400 W.Front St. and it is where the Drink My Brewcast crew first crossed paths. Bartenders Bob Miller, Shaun Mckolay, and Carly Anderson hold down the hosting positions and performing songwriter Mike Moran who frequently performs at North Peak Brewing company produces the show.
Drink My Brewcast was Co-Founded by Bob Miller and Mike Moran. Moran had started his podcast production business and was looking for someone to do voice-over work. He knew about this red headed bartender who worked out on the patio at North Peak Brewing Company and asked Bob Miller to do some voice-over work for a new show.
They both expressed interest in creating a craft beer podcast together so after a meeting of the minds at 7 Monks Taproom, Bob and Mike agreed to create a show. Bob came up with the name Drink My Brewcast and the show was born in Mike’s basement.
HOW DRINK MY BREWCAST WAS RECORDED IN THE BEGINNING
The first four episodes were produced using a Macbook Laptop, Garageband, and an Audio Technica AT2020 USB Microphone (affiliate link). That microphone held down the show for four episodes. Moran started facing recording problems when segments would run over 20 minutes long. The laptop would get hot and the condenser microphone started phasing. Two shows were cut due to this problem and Moran sold off some music equipment to purchase a mixer and digital recorder.
THE CREW ALL WORKED TOGETHER AT NORTH PEAK BREWING COMPANY
Los Bob was met with the task of finding co-hosts and Mike and Bob agreed the first person they should ask to be a part of the podcast was Shaun Mckolay who is a head bartender at North Peak Brewing Company and also manages The Jolly Pumpkin on Old Mission Peninsula. Shauny Boy agreed to co-host and now the show was on a mission to find a third co-host. Bob asked Carly Anderson co-owner and head bartender at Brewery Ferment in Traverse City to join the show.
